When I Was a Little Girl . . .

So today we were walking in from church and Lexi started to say, "When I was a little girl . . ." to which Jackson cut her off and said, "Lexi, you ARE a little girl!" Made me laugh. She's been making comments like that a lot lately. She's been very retrospective talking about when she WAS in high school and how when she WAS 16 she drove to Boondock's. It seems as though she's already lived her life and is just here to tell us about it!

Jackson's Baptism

The big day finally arrived! Jackson has been looking forward to this day for a long time. I can't believe how quickly the past 8 years have gone by. We celebrated the day with family and friends followed by dinner at our home. We are so proud of you and the right choice you have made to be baptized Jackson. We love you.

Happy 8th Jackson!

Jackson turned 8 a couple of weeks ago and things have been so busy I haven't had a chance to write about it yet. He has been especially excited for this birthday because he was looking forward to being baptized and becoming a cub scout. Here are eight greats about Jackson.

1. He's so responsible (guess it just comes with being the oldest).

2. He loves sports and anything that gets him moving.

3. He's a polite, well-mannered boy (his teacher even says so).

4. He has a caring heart and watches out for others.

5. He's a great reader and speller.

6. He jumps in and helps where he's needed.

7. He's cooperative (most of the time!).

8. He loves his younger brother and sisters and shows it.

Happy Birthday to My 6 Year Old!

Our little Collin turned 6 last Saturday. Six? I remember the day he was born so vividly like it was yesterday. He was my easiest pregnancy and labor and was a pretty easy baby. He's still easy-going. Here are the top 6 things I love about him.

1. He makes us laugh, all the time. He's a pretty witty guy.

2. He's not afraid to dance, sing, and act just plain silly (only in front of us, of course).

3. He loves to help Kurt. It doesn't matter what it is as long as he's with his dad.

4. His love of nature. From collecting bugs to helping in the yard, or taking care of "pet" caterpillars.

5. He's a pretty well-rounded kid. He loves to ride his bike and scooter, play outside and dig around in the dirt, but he'll also help me cook and play with his sisters' babies with them.

6. He's just so darn cute!

Happy Birthday Collin! We love you so much.

Just Playing Around With the New Camera

Thank goodness the kids are willing to pose for pictures. I'm still trying to learn how to use the new camera I got for Christmas. I'm sure there will be plenty more photo shoots in the future.

The Christmas Dresses

I'm a sucker for new dresses for holidays. The girls have to have a "Christmas" dress and an "Easter" dress and so on even if they have plenty in their closets. So here are my two cute, little ones in their Christmas dresses this year.

Naughty or Nice?

Apparentely, Santa was not on Brooklyn's "nice" list. She was scared to death of him! But the rest of the kids walked right up, told him what they were wishing for, and posed for the picture.
